Hysterosapingogram or HSG is a type of x-ray study to get information about the uterus, the fallopian tubes, and the pelvis. This test is to check if you have a problem with fertility.
How it is done? A small tube is inserted into the cervix so that a dye can flow into the uterus and along the fallopian tubes. The dye shows the size and shape of the uterus and whether both fallopian tubes are open. An HSG is performed after a menstrual period but before ovulation.
