The Clomiphene Citrate Challenge Test

In order to check if you have hormonal problem, you must undergo the clomiphene citrate challenge test. Clomiphene Citrate, which is also known as Serophene, is a fertility medication that stimulates the body to produce the hormones follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and LH. This test looks for elevated levels of FSH, which are associated with low pregnancy rates.

Before and after the administration of clomiphene citrate pills, the blood levels of FSH are measured. In this test, the blood is drawn on day 3. The woman takes Serophene from days to 9 of her menstrual cycle. Blood is then drawn again on day 10.
